Gautam Gambhir disapproves of the overly friendly behavior between the Pakistani and Indian players.

Following the cricket match between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup, a viral set of "friendly videos" on social media has drawn strong criticism from former Indian captain Gautam Gambhir.
Gautam Gambhir, who played his last international match in Pakistan's hosting of the Asia Cup on September 2 at Pallekele Stadium, had a laugh over the "green shirts" on social media, aiming his mockery towards Captain Rohit Sharma and the Indian team.
During the analysis of the Asia Cup 2023 match between Pakistan and India, Gautam Gambhir expressed disapproval of the overly friendly behavior between the Pakistani and Indian players, specifically citing the exchange of green shirts and gestures.
Gambhir stated that when you step onto the field for your national team, friendships must be set aside.
Friendship should be kept out of the boundaries.
He emphasized that while after 6 or 7 hours of playing, you can adopt a friendly attitude if you wish, these hours are crucial because you are not representing yourself but a nation with a population of more than a billion.
The former cricketer further noted that these days, you often see players from opposing teams patting each other on the back and exchanging pleasantries during the match, something you would never have witnessed a few years ago.
It should be noted that in the highly anticipated clash between traditional rivals, India managed to score 266 runs for the loss of five wickets after winning the toss but could not continue due to rain, ultimately resulting in both teams receiving one point each.
After receiving one point each, Pakistan has secured its place in the Super Four of the Asia Cup 2023.
Gambhir is very clear about the basics of game and how cricket should be played. Stop giving smooches to opponents. I think those playing for their images should stay only in #Pakistan Dugout during #AsiaCup2023
