NEPRA is likely to increase the power tariff for K-Electric consumers by Rs10.32 per unit on account of three different fuel adjustments.
Islamabad: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) is likely to increase the power tariff for K-Electric consumers by Rs10.32 per unit on account of three different fuel adjustments on Monday.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has been requested by the government to increase the power rate for three adjustments, including October to December 2022–2023; July to K-Electric September 2022; and April to June.
The administration has asked NEPRA for an increase totaling Rs10.32/unit. On September 11, the power regulator will hear the government's request.
It should be mentioned that protests against the high cost of energy from Karachi to Khyber have been led by individuals from all walks of life.
Jamaat-e-Islami made the decision on Sunday to organize protest sit-ins at each governor's residence in response to exorbitant electricity costs.
“We will stage sit-ins in front of governor houses in all four provinces and observe wheel-jam strike along with traders and transports if the government refuses to reduce electricity bills,” talking to media JI Ameer Sirajul Haq said.
He expressed gratitude to the traders and other participants for their assistance in a successful strike, noting that it sent a message to the past governments that the people would not accept their deals.
