Islamabad: PML-N leader Atta Tarar on Monday said that former Punjab Chief Minister Pervez Elahi and Moonis Elahi must be held accountable for their alleged corruption within the province.

Tarar claimed that a staggering sum of around Rs120 billion had been expended on Lahore's master plan alone.

He criticized the practice of escorting criminals to their residences, questioning the presence of justice when entire families were incarcerated.

Tarar also expressed concerns about police officers facing contempt allegations, emphasizing that issuing show-cause notices to these officers was unjust. He argued that ordering a criminal to be dropped off at home constituted an actual contempt of court.

He further remarked that a new trend had emerged where individuals implicated in significant corruption cases were being accompanied to their homes.
