Asia Cup 2023: 5 Super 4s matches shifted to Hambantota
Hambantota will host the Super Four match if India defeats Nepal on Monday.
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has decided to shift all the Super 4 matches of the Asia Cup 2023 to Hambantota as a long rain spell are expected in Colombo where matches were scheduled to be held for the next 15 days.
The decision was taken after closely looking at the weather forecast and the possibility of rain disturbing the matches.
Hambantota will host the Super Four match if India defeats Nepal on Monday.
Additionally, a reserve day for the India-Pakistan match is being considered because their group-stage match was called off before the second innings was even bowled.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had already expressed their concerns to ACC who assured proper coordination.
According to BBC Weather forecast, thundery showers are expected in Colombo for the next 15 days.
It must be noted that the ACC is already under heavy criticism for organising Asia Cup matches in Sri Lanka knowing that it always rains there during this time of year.
These matches will be shifted to Hambantota:
