Islamabad: Former First Lady Bushra Bibi met with her husband and former prime minister, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan in Attock jail on Tuesday.
The meeting lasted for an hour and at the end of the meeting, Bushra Bibi left for her home without speaking to reporters.
Following a brief standoff with authorities, she was permitted to enter the jail. In the vicinity of the prison, Bushra Bibi was stopped at a police checkpoint at around 2:30 p.m. A confrontation that lasted for roughly 60 minutes resulted from the police preventing PTI lawyers and others from crossing the barrier.
She was accompanied by the legal team outside the Attock Jail but the lawyers were stopped at the check post.
The lawyers' team included Umair Niazi and Shiraz Ahmad Ranjha. Bushra Bibi was allowed around 3:30 p.m. to enter the jail.
Earlier, former first lady Bushra Bibi, wife of Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan Monday filed a bail appeal in the Lahore High Court (LHC) in the fear of her possible arrest.
According to details, federation, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) have been made parties in the petition filed in the Supreme Court.
The position has been adopted in the petition that being the wife of former prime minister, my husband is being targeted for political revenge.
She stated that NAB, FIA and other institutions including the Punjab Police have registered baseless and illegal cases. After which, now I am also being subjected to political revenge.
