The latest reports say that the federal interior secretary had been ill for quite some time.


Islamabad: Federal Secretary Interior Abdullah Khan Sumbal passed away on Wednesday. He had been ill for quite some time.
Taking to Twitter, Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti expressed sorrow and grief over demise of the senior officer.
He wrote, “Heartfelt condolences on the passing of Abdullah Khan, Secretary Interior. May his soul find eternal peace and may his family and loved ones find strength during this difficult time. He was indeed a brilliant officer, big loss for his family & civil service of Pakistan,”.

Mr. Sumbal resumed charge of his office on August 20. He served on different important positions including commissioner of Lahore division.
