NAB summons Bushra Bibi in Toshakhana case
Bushra Bibi received a notice from the NAB Rawalpindi summoning her tomorrow at 11 am in relation to the Toshakhana case.
Rawalpindi: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned the former first lady and wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Bushra Bibi in Toshakhana case on Wednesday.
According to information, Bushra Bibi received a notice from the NAB Rawalpindi summoning her tomorrow at 11 am in relation to the Toshakhana case.
The notification indicated that while Bushra Bibi acquired a diamond and gold ring, bracelet, and necklace on September 18, 2020, she failed to list it among her assets. In contrast, the wife of the PTI leader received a chain, locket, and earrings on June 26, 2019.
The former first lady has been accused of keeping a locket, chain, earrings, two rings and bracelet from the Toshakhana gifts.
She is also accused of keeping gold, diamond, necklace, and bracelet, as well as gold and diamond rings, earrings and bracelet.
The reference, which alleges that former PM Imran failed to share details of the gifts he retained from the Toshaskhana (during his time as the prime minister) was filed by lawmakers from the ruling coalition last year.
The Toshakhana issue became a major sticking point in national politics after the Election Commission of Pakistan disqualified the PTI chief for making “false statements and incorrect declaration” last month.
The judgement added that the former premier was found to be indulged in corrupt practices under sections 167 and 173 of the constitution. “A criminal proceeding will be initiated against him over filing a false statement.”
