Famous poet Ashfaq Ahmad remembered on death anniversary
The literary figure was also awarded President’s Pride of Performance and Sitara-e-Imtiaz.


Lahore: Renowned Urdu Poet Ashfaq Ahmed is being remembered on his 19th death anniversary today (September 7, Thursday).
Born in India on August 25, 1925, Ashfaq migrated to Pakistan and graduated from the Government College University, Lahore (GCU) in Urdu Literature.
“Life makes you weep no matter how pampered you are by your parents,” his famous quote still resonates.
Legend’s work includes many novels, short stories and plays for televisions and radio as well. He authored more than 20 books during his lifetime, and his video clips from different shows still give worthy lessons.
The literary figure was also awarded President’s Pride of Performance and Sitara-e-Imtiaz for exemplary services in the field of literature and broadcasting.
On 7 September 2004, Ahmed died of pancreatic cancer. He was buried in Model Town, Lahore, Pakistan.
