Faisalabad: Two trader groups have clashed in Dajkot Anarkali market on Saturday in Faisalabad.
The clash started after one group opened their shops, despite strict instructions from the local administration to the contrary.
According to the reporter, dozens of shoppers including women were present in the market for Eid purchases. The majority of shops were also clandestinely open. Witnesses say that SOPs were not being observed in the market.
Two men were injured in the clash in which the two groups attacked each other physically.
After the police appeared on the scene, all shops were immediately shut down.
Battling a vicious surge of the coronavirus pandemic, Pakistan has imposed a country wide lockdown in the lead up to Eid holidays. All shops are to remain closed from May 8 to May 16. Only pharmacies, grocery stores and shops selling essential items are allowed to remain open.
An obscure health insurance alternative is seeing tremendous growth. But there’s a catch.
