Morocco earthquake: Death toll rises to 632
Communication system has been severely affected due to the earthquake.
The death toll from the magnitude 6.8 earthquake in Morocco has risen to 632 while 329 people have been injured.
According to foreign media, aftershocks are still taking place after the earthquake. Tremors were also felt in Rabat, Casablanca and Essaouira.
Foreign media told that buildings were shaken by the devastating earthquake, after which hundreds of people were buried under the rubble.
According to reports, historical buildings in Morocco have also become piles of rubble. After the earthquake, relief operations are underway in the affected areas.
Communication system has been severely affected due to the earthquake while areas were plunged into darkness due to power outages due to which frightened citizens spent the night in open spaces and on roads.
The strong earthquake occurred in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, with its epicenter 75 km southwest of Morocco and a depth of 18.5 km.
