The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) issued a concise statement explaining the situation, saying, "Haris Rauf will not be participating in further bowling during the Asia Cup Super 4 match against India as a precautionary step. He reported slight discomfort in his right flank during the match yesterday."
The statement continued, "Subsequently, as a precautionary measure, he underwent an MRI examination, which showed no signs of a tear. He is currently under the supervision of the team's medical staff."
The Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 match had been called off the previous day due to persistent rain. Pakistan had won the toss and elected to bowl first against India.
When rain halted play on Sunday, India had scored 147/2 in 24.1 overs. In accordance with the playing conditions, the game resumed from this point on the reserve day, with no overs lost.
