Contempt case: LHC issues arrest warrants of IG Islamabad
The court ordered him to appear on September 18 in LHC after issuing a written verdict of his arrest warrant for failing to appear in court.
Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) issued arrest warrant of Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad police in contempt case on Monday
According to details, the IG Islamabad issued the arrest warrants in a contempt case involving the detention of Pervaiz Elahi, a former chief minister and current president of the PTI.
The court ordered him to appear on September 18 in LHC after issuing a written verdict of his arrest warrant for failing to appear in court.
Prior to this, the Punjab police and Superintendent Jail were asked to provide information regarding the re-arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Pervaiz Elahi by the Lahore High Court (LHC).
Earlier today, the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) of Islamabad Monday adjourned the hearing on former chief minister of Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi's bail plea till tomorrow.
According to details, Parvez Elahi's bail appeal was heard in the judicial complex attack case in ATC Islamabad.
Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain of the ATC heard the case where lawyer Abdul Raziq appeared in court on behalf of Elahi. Records could not be submitted by prosecution even today.
Parvez Elahi’s lawyer made an appeal for the medical test of former chief minister, on which the court approved the request and issued instructions to the superintendent of Adiala Jail.
Later, the court adjourned the hearing on PTI President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi's bail application till tomorrow.
