An armed man killed six members of an extended family Sunday inside a birthday party at a mobile home in Colorado Springs before killing himself, state police said in a news release.

As per details, the tragic incident happened just after midnight at Canterbury Mobile Home Park on Preakness Way off Powers Boulevard, near the airport on the city's east side and appears to be the fourth deadliest mass shooting in city's history.
Police and rescue teams reached the spot after getting information and shifted the dead and injured to a nearby hospital.
Racing to a reported shooting, officers arrived at a trailer to find six dead adults and a man with serious injuries who did not sustained injuries and later died at a hospital.
As per initial investigation, the suspected shooter was the boyfriend of a female victim at the party attended by friends, family and children.
Police said that children at the attack weren't hurt and were placed with relatives.
“The suspect walked inside and opened fire before shooting himself,” police added.
Officials further revealed that the birthday party was for one of the people killed.
In 2015, a man shot three people to death at random before dying in a shootout with police in Colorado Springs on Halloween.
Less than a month later, a man killed three people, including a police officer, and injured eight others in a shooting at a Planned Parenthood clinic in the city.
