Arrest warrant for Indian actress Zareen Khan issued
Despite the repeated notices of the court, the actress did not appear, after which her arrest warrant has been issued.

Kolkata: A local court in Kolkata issued an arrest warrant for Indian actress Zareen Khan on charges of cheating.
According to Indian media reports, several complaints were filed against Zareen Khan in Kolkata. The investigating officer of the case submitted a charge sheet against the actress in the Sealdah Court of Kolkata.
The case against Zareen Khan was filed in 2018, after complaints were lodged by an event management company against her for not performing at six events of a religious ceremony (Pooja) in Kolkata.
Despite the repeated notices of the court, the actress did not appear, after which her arrest warrant has been issued.
When the Indian media contacted Zareen Khan about the arrest warrant, she said: “I believe there is no truth in this news, I am also surprised and in touch with my lawyer in this regard”.
Zareen Khan was scheduled to perform during the Darga Pooja ceremony in Kolkata in 2018, but the organizers kept waiting for her arrival and she did not come.
According to the police, the organizers had filed a written complaint of cheating against the Bollywood actress and her manager.
Zareen Khan appeared for questioning at that time. She also claimed that the organizers had misrepresented. The actress also alleged that she was told by the organizers that heavyweight ministers including the Chief Minister of Bengal would participate in the event. However the actress' team later found out that it was a small-scale event in North Kolkata.
The Indian actress also said that there was a miscommunication regarding flight tickets and other accommodation after which she had to leave the show.
Police sources said that Zareen Khan had also filed a case against the organizers of the show in the local court.
After the investigation, a charge sheet was filed against Zareen Khan and her manager who appeared in the court and applied for bail, but the actress neither applied for bail nor appeared in the court.
