Planning minister urges provinces, ICT to submit Master Plans in one week
Muhammad Sami Saeed issues these directives while chairing a meeting of a special committee on building consensus for regulating the conversion of agricultural land to housing societies in Islamabad.
Islamabad: Caretaker Minister for Planning and Development Muhammad Sami Saeed on Wednesday asked the provincial governments and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) to submit their respective Master Plans with recommendations within one week.
He issued these directives while chairing a meeting of a special committee on building consensus for regulating the conversion of agricultural land to housing societies in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The committee was established by the Prime Minister to foster agreement on regulating the conversion of agricultural land to housing societies across the country.
The Minister for Planning said there is a dire need to preserve the agricultural land keeping in view the challenges being faced by the country.
He reiterated that the government is taking serious steps to preserve the agriculture land in the country.
The meeting was informed by the relevant stakeholders from the provinces and Islamabad Capital Territory about the existence of their respective Master Plans, their legal framework and mechanism to implement their laws.
