Peshawar: CCPO Syed Ashfaq Anwar and RPO Kohat Sher Akbar Khan recently provided information about an organized network participating in the MDCAT scams during a news conference held in Peshawar on Friday.
Anwar claims that 44 spy devices were employed in the test, demonstrating the scale of the operation.
Anwar commended the Kohat Police's efforts and claimed that their cooperation was crucial in identifying all of the gang members participating in the scam.
So far, 74 students have been arrested for cheating, and cases have been registered against them in various police stations in Peshawar.
Moreover, seven solved papers that were also found on the defendants further connected them to the scheme after the arrests.
Anwar added that the gadgets are being subjected to a forensic examination, which will indicate where they were made.
The primary defendant in the fraud has already been named in cases. Mobile phones and a bank check in the amount of lakhs were also found along with the suspects, adding to the evidence of the illegal actions.
The authorities are also checking the CDR records of the ETA staff on duty in the examination centres to uncover any potential collusion. Anwar revealed that the relevant institutions have written a letter requesting the IP address information of the network server to which the devices were connected.
