Lahore: Visas for the Pakistani national cricket squad, set to participate in the upcoming World Cup, are anticipated to be issued today.
Sources reveal that the Indian Embassy will receive the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from its Ministry of Home Affairs today, facilitating the issuance of visas to the Pakistani cricket squad.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had reached out to the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding the visa matter, and the ICC had instructed the Indian Cricket Board to expedite the issuance of the NOC.
According to sources, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) promptly requested the Ministry of Home Affairs to issue the NOC, raising hopes of swift progress on the matter today.
The national cricket squad is scheduled to depart for Hyderabad, India, on Wednesday morning, where they will kick off their preparations for the mega event.
Their first warm-up match against New Zealand is scheduled for September 29.
