AR Rahman sues Association of Surgeons of India for ₹100mln
The singer took legal action after the allegations of defamation made by the association.

Mumbai: AR Rahman, the world-famous Indian musician, has issued a legal notice seeking ₹10 million in damages from the Association of Surgeons of India.
This legal action comes in response to allegations of defamation by the association.
The dispute originates from an event that was scheduled to take place in 2018, where AR Rahman was set to perform for the Association of Surgeons of India.
Unfortunately, the event was abruptly canceled at the last minute, and Rahman did not return the advance payment he had received.
On September 27, the Association of Surgeons of India filed a complaint with the Chennai (Madras) Police Commissioner's Office, claiming that they had organized an annual program in collaboration with the Society of Surgeons five years ago.
While AR Rahman was contracted to perform at the event and was paid ₹0.3 million for his services, the Tamil Nadu government denied permission for the concert to proceed.
Subsequently, when the surgeons' association requested a refund of the advance payment, AR Rahman's team issued a check that later bounced, prompting the association to file a formal complaint.
