WhatsApp stops working on old phones
The company is eager to direct its attention toward the introduction of fresh features.

California: WhatsApp, the widely-used instant messaging application, has announced that it will cease to operate on certain Android and iPhone models beginning October 24 in California.
This decision comes as part of Meta's ongoing commitment to enhancing user experience by introducing new features and focusing on cutting-edge security and technological advancements.
In a crucial disclosure, Meta's sub-platform, WhatsApp, shared its vision to prioritize delivering innovative features to users on the latest operating systems.
To meet this goal, the messaging application will no longer be available on smartphones running Android platform 4.1 and older operating systems.
The decision to discontinue WhatsApp on specific mobile devices will be influenced by the device's capabilities, the outdated software it runs, and the number of users still utilizing these devices.
The primary motivation behind this move is to concentrate resources on serving users with the most up-to-date technology and security features.
According to WhatsApp, older devices may not have the necessary security updates or functionalities required to run the application efficiently.
As technology evolves and security risks increase, maintaining support for older devices can become a challenging endeavor.
The list of models and devices affected by this decision include A5003, Samsung Galaxy S, HTC Desire HD, LG Optimus 2X, and Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc3, among others.
Users with these devices will need to consider upgrading their smartphones or switching to alternative messaging platforms to continue their instant messaging services.
