Lahore: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested nine terrorists during operations in different districts of Punjab.
According to officials, CTD arrested two key commanders of the banned terrorist organization Daesh, identified as Amin and Waqar, during a major operation in the border village of Lahore.
Officials said: “The arrested terrorists wanted to target the sensitive facilities of the provincial capital”.
CTD also conducted operations in other cities of Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Nankana Sahib, Rahim Yar Khan and Sheikhupura during which seven terrorists were arrested.
According to the authorities, explosive materials, mobile phones, weapons and cash were also recovered from the possession of the arrested terrorists.
Officials added that the networks of arrested terrorists wanted to operate simultaneously in all cities. Cases have been registered against them and investigation has been started.
