Lahore: All public and private schools in Punjab will remain closed till May 23 in view of third wave of coronavirus.

The announcement was made by Punjab’s Education Minister Punjab Murad Raas on his twitter account. The Minister added that a meeting will be held on 18 May 2021 to review the ongoing situation.
Murad further urged people to follow of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the government.

All Public and Private Schools of Punjab will remain closed till May 23, 2021 due to COVID 19 situation. A review meeting will be held on May 18th, 2021. Please make sure to follow SOPs issued by the Government.
On May 08, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) announced that all educational institutions including schools, colleges, universities will remain closed till May 23.
Pakistan is presently experiencing the third wave of coronavirus which is said to be deadlier and more contagious than previous two waves.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 2,517 cases of coronavirus were reported while 48 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 19,384.
The total number of cases has reached 873,220.
As many as 780,438 patients have recovered from the disease with no critical cases.
