WC 2023: Pakistan faces challenge as Australian openers score centuries

Bengaluru: In the 18th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup, the Australian batsmen demonstrated their dominance against the Pakistani bowlers.
This contest, held at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, saw Pakistan's captain, Babar Azam, winning the toss and inviting Australian skipper Pat Cummins to bat first.
In response, Mitchell Marsh and David Warner were chosen as the opening pair for Australia.
The Australian openers provided their team with an impressive start, forming an extraordinary partnership of 205 runs without losing any wickets in just 29.3 overs.
This partnership marked the highest ever achieved by Australia against Pakistan in the history of the World Cup.
While the Australian batsmen displayed their prowess, the Pakistani bowlers struggled to contain them.
Furthermore, both of Australia's opening batsmen achieved centuries during this innings, contributing significantly to their team's impressive total.
In terms of team composition, Pakistan made a change by including Osama Mir in the playing eleven against Australia, replacing Shadab Khan.
Captain Babar Azam expressed his confidence in the team's preparation for this match, emphasizing their training and extensive practice sessions.
He stated their intent to secure a victory by delivering a strong performance and taking quick wickets.
