OIC session on Palestine called on Saudi, Pakistani demand: Ashrafi
Islamabad: Special Advisor to the Prime Minister, Maulana Tahir Ashrafi, has confirmed on Friday that in light of Israel's aggression against Palestine, a special session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has been scheduled.
"We need to unite to help the innocent people of Palestine," Ashrafi said, adding that Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that whatever course if action OIC decides, it will be acted upon.
"Pakistan wants this cruelty to end. Every Ramzan, Kashmir and Palestine are subjected to injustice. These are the two wounds of the Muslim Ummah that keep on bleeding. Masjid Al-Aqsa was bombed, Israel tried to set fire to it," Tahir Ashrafi stated, stressing that for Muslims, Al-Aqsa is more important for Muslims than their lives.
"We should raise our voice in unison. insha'Allah the day when we all will pray in Masjid Al-Aqsa is near," he said.
Answering a question, Ashrafi said that he did not believe that Arab countries are silent on the matter. "Saudi Arabia has always been at the forefront when it comes to providing aid for Palestinians. It also helped Palestine in coronavirus pandemic," he insisted.
Criticizing foreign organisations and agencies, Ashrafi said why can they not see the martyrdom of 108 people. "If even a dog gets scratched, international organizations speak up but now they cannot see Palestine," he observed.
He concluded by reminding Palestinians that Pakistan stand by them.
