Lahore: The prominent leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Dr. Mehmood-ul-Hasan, lost his life in a tragic car accident while returning from a rally at Lahore's historic Minar-e-Pakistan.
The accident occurred in the early hours of the morning, leaving the PML-N and the nation in mourning.
Dr. Mehmoodul Hasan, an esteemed figure within the PML-N, had been an active participant in the rally held at Lahore's Minar-e-Pakistan.
After a day filled with fervent speeches and political gatherings, Dr. Mehmood-ul-Hasan was en route to his hometown, Kotli in Azad Kashmir, when the fateful incident transpired.
Having arrived at the rally in Lahore as part of a convoy from Kotli, he embarked on his journey back in his personal vehicle due to unforeseen delays.
Tragically, the morning drive took a devastating turn when Dr. Mehmood-ul-Hasan's car met with an accident in the Sadiqabad area.
Local authorities and rescue teams swiftly responded to the scene, rescuing Dr. Mehmood-ul-Hasan and three of his colleagues, who were also in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
They were promptly transported to Mirpur Hospital for medical treatment.
Despite all efforts, Dr. Mehmood-ul-Hasan succumbed to his injuries, leaving a void in the political landscape of Pakistan.
His three colleagues continue to receive medical attention as they battle their injuries.
Preliminary investigations by the police have revealed that the accident occurred due to excessive speed, causing the PML-N leader's car to veer off the road and plunge into a ditch in the Sadiqabad area.
The tragic incident has left the PML-N and the nation in mourning, as Dr. Mehmood-ul-Hasan's contributions to the party.
