Delaying elections is equivalent to not holding elections, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Karachi: Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has emphasized the necessity of holding immediate elections, stating that postponing elections is akin to not conducting them at all.
He made these remarks during an event commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Constitution of Pakistan in Islamabad.
During his address, Bilawal Bhutto highlighted the significance of the Constitution as the cornerstone of the rule of law in Pakistan.
Responding to a journalist's query about the likelihood of upcoming elections, he expressed his optimism by saying, "Inshallah, the election will be held."
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed gratitude for being invited to the golden jubilee ceremony of the Constitution.
He stressed the symbiotic relationship between democracy, the Constitution, and the protection of human rights.
He acknowledged the pivotal role played by the Supreme Court in challenging dictatorial regimes and safeguarding constitutional principles.
Referring to the historical backdrop, Bilawal Bhutto pointed out that previous instances of judicially driven dismissals of elected prime ministers underscored the urgency of setting an election date.
He affirmed that the Constitution is the soul of the nation and that any delay in holding elections is tantamount to not conducting them at all.
Furthermore, Bilawal Bhutto insisted that an impartial body should be appointed to oversee the process, and the Election Commission should promptly announce an election date.
He recalled the sacrifices made by individuals like Benazir Bhutto, who gave their lives for the restoration and preservation of the Constitution.
In addition, he called on judges to be held accountable before subjecting elected officials to the same standard.
Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto concluded by noting the glimmer of hope found in recent decisions related to legal practice and procedure
