Lahore: Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Raza Naqvi Wednesday approved the construction of another big cardiac (heart) hospital in Lahore.
According to details, due to the rush of cardiac patients in Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC), Jinnah Institute of Cardiology (JIC) will be built in place of Jinnah Hospital's Emergency and Trauma Center project. While the Emergency and Trauma Center will be shifted to Jinnah Hospital.
Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the project site and made a detailed inspection of the under-construction project.
Secretary Construction and Communications briefed the Chief Minister regarding construction work of the project, in which it was stated that the building of Jinnah Institute of Cardiology will have seven floors and the number of beds will be 250. After PIC, Jinnah Institute of Cardiology will be the biggest cardiac hospital in Lahore.
Provincial health minister Dr. Javed Akram, Information Minister Amir Mir, Secretaries Health, Construction and Communications, Special Secretary Health, Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College (AIMC), MS Jinnah Hospital and related officials were also present on the occasion.
