EV-2 is operating on a single route from Malir Halt to Bahria Town.


Karachi: The Karachi electric bus service has been shut down suddenly on two out of three routes in the metropolis.
According to information, Karachi residents are having difficulties with their everyday commute as a result of the abrupt suspension of the electric bus service, which was launched in June 2023 as part of the People Bus Services initiative by the Sindh government.
While EV-1 and EV-3 of the Karachi bus service are halted indefinitely, EV-2 is operating on a single route from Malir Halt to Bahria Town.
Furthermore, officials stated that route closures are the cause of the suspension of the Karachi Electric Bus service.
It is important to note that the government introduced the first route of electric bus service this year in January. Route 1 buses travel from Karachi Airport to Seaview.
The first electric bus route begins at Tank Chowk, which is close to Jinnah Avenue, and travels via the airport, Sharea Faisal, FTC, Korangi Road, Khayaban-i Ittehad, and finally ends at the Clock Tower at Seaview.
