Veteran ANP leader Nasim Wali Khan passes away
Peshawar: Begum Nasim Wali Khan a devoted activist associated with the Awami National Party (ANP) passed away after protracted illness on Sunday. She was 88.
The funeral will be held in the city’s Wali Bagh at 6pm today and the late leader will be buried in her ancestral graveyard in the Utmanzai village of Charsadda.
Born in 1933, the Pakhtun nationalist leader was one of the main leaders of the Pakistan National Alliance and made history in 1977 as the first woman elected from a Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province general seat.
She also served as the provincial president of ANP thrice.
Nasim Wali Khan married Khan Abdul Wali Khan in 1954. She is the mother of Sangeen Wali Khan (late), as well as step-mother of Asfandyar Wali Khan.
