Lahore’s Mall Road reserved for cyclists, pedestrians every Sunday
Decision comes as a counter strategies to fight against menace of smog in Lahore and other cities.
Lahore: Chief Traffic Officer Mustansar Firoz declared on Sunday that Mall Road in Lahore would be exclusively closed for all types of traffic each Sunday.
The CTO emphasized that, on Sundays, Mall Road would be designated solely for cyclists and pedestrians. This decision aligns with the Punjab government's initiatives to address the issue of smog.
The action was taken by the authorities as the smog became a threat to the residents.
Motorists are encouraged to refrain from using Mall Road on Sundays to steer clear of potential stress-inducing situations.
