Judge hearing Jahangir, son case transferred

The Lahore High Court on Wednesday transferred the banking court judge who was hearing Jahangir Tareen and his son, Ali Tareen’s case of alleged money laundering and fraud.

According to the notification, the banking court judge, Ameer Muhammad Khan has been transferred from Lahore to Hafizabad.

After the approval of Chief Justice Lahore High Court, Muhammad Qasim Khan, 19 session judges and 22 civil judges have been transferred.

On the other hand, the Jahangir Khan Tareen group have unanimously announced the formation of a separate group in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

“The group has decided to raise its voice against this behaviour in the Punjab Assembly. The members of the group have decided to nominate MPA Saeed Akbar Niwani to lead the discussions against the alleged revenge tactics of the Punjab government, in the assembly,” Tareen added in a Media talk on Wednesday.

According to the reports, Jahangir Tareen allies members of the Assembly have claimed that they have the support of 32 members in the Punjab Assembly while there are 10 to 12 members who are secretly supporting us.

“The Punjab Assembly members who are silent with us will show support during polling and elections”, according to Tareen Group.

According to one of Tareen’s allies, Nazir Chohan, a meeting will be scheduled on Thursday with the Speaker Punjab Assembly and the names of 32 Tareen like-minded members of the Punjab Assembly will be presented.

Earlier today, the Sessions and Banking Court has extended the interim bail of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Tareen and his son Ali Tareen till May 31.
