The arrest has taken place at Adiala Jail after NAB Chairman Lt-Gen (retd) Nazir Ahmed Butt sanctioned the arrest warrant for the former information minister.

Islamabad: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Saturday arrested former PTI leader and federal minister Fawad Chaudhry in connection with a corruption case.
The arrest took place at Adiala Jail after NAB Chairman Lt-Gen (retd) Nazir Ahmed Butt sanctioned the arrest warrant for the former information minister.
The warrant specified that Fawad Chaudhry is being detained in relation to a corruption case and is slated to appear before the court.
This recent development follows Fawad Chaudhry's earlier arrest last month, when he was taken into custody from his residence in Islamabad. His departure from the PTI after the May 9 violence had preceded this arrest, as confirmed by his wife Hiba Chaudhry, who disclosed, "Fawad has been arrested and taken to an unknown place."
Fawad Chaudhry had faced arrest in January for making public threats against members of the Election Commission of Pakistan. In June of the same year, he issued an apology to the electoral watchdog for using what was deemed "intemperate" language directed at the ECP and Chief Election Commissioner Sikander Sultan Raja.
In another June event, Fawad Chaudhry participated in the launch of the Istihkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), led by former PTI member Jahangir Tareen.
