Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Monday written a letter to Chairman of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to take action against media violating the code of conduct.
According to the details, ECP wrote in the letter that some channels are broadcasting poll surveys, which is prohibited as per the code of conduct.
The letter said that the media has been prevented from conducting surveys and polls from polling stations and constituencies, activities that influence the voter and disrupt the election process.
It has been demanded in the letter by the ECP that PEMRA should take immediate action against such channels and submit a report.
