Last day to file appeals against decisions of ROs
So far, more than 100 appeals have been filed in the tribunal, which are still being heard.
Islamabad: The day marks the last day to file appeals against the decisions of Returning Officers (RO) regarding the acceptance of rejection of nomination papers for upcoming general elections 2024 of Pakistan.
According to the details, the Appellate Tribunal comprising of nine judges of the Lahore High Court (LHC) will hear the appeals against the decisions of the returning officers and make decisions by January 10.
So far, more than 100 appeals have been filed in the tribunal, which are still being heard.
The appeals have also been filed against the RO's decision to approve the nomination papers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif and party president Shehbaz Sharif.
The Appellate Tribunal Judge Risal Hasan Syed will hear the objection appeal against Nawaz Sharif's NA-130 approval papers today (Wednesday)
An appeal is likely to be filed today against the rejection of nomination papers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan from NA-122.
It is important to mention that according to the schedule issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), appeals against the acceptance or rejection of nomination papers can be filed till January 3 i.e. today.
The Election Tribunals will hear the appeals from January 4 and issue a decision on the appeals by January 10.
