The Election Tribunal approved the nomination papers of former interior minister Sheikh Rashid from constituency NA-56 and 57.
Rawalpindi: The Election Tribunal Thursday approved the nomination papers of Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and Ijaz-ul-Haq.
According to the details, the Election Tribunal of Rawalpindi rejected the objections of the Returning Officer on the papers of Ijaz-ul-Haq and his nomination papers were accepted from Constituency NA-55 of Rawalpindi.
The Election Tribunal also approved the nomination papers of former interior minister and AML chief Sheikh Rashid from constituency NA-56 and 57.
On the other hand, former minister Fawad Chaudhry's appeal against the rejection of papers from two Jhelum seats was heard in which the tribunal issued notices to the Election Commission for tomorrow (Friday).
Fawad Chaudhry's lawyer took the stand in the tribunal that bogus objections are being raised to keep his client out of the election.
