Brazil had an agreement with the Japanese laboratory under which 90,000 doses were provided in the first batch.


Brasilia: The government said that the Mato Grosso do Sul began the first mass vaccination against dengue whose primary purpose is to vaccinate 150,000 citizens of the city.
According to the details, the government is using currently approved Japanese drug maker Takeda's vaccine QDENGA which will vaccinate people aged between 04 to 59 years.
Brazil had an agreement with the Japanese laboratory under which 90,000 doses were provided in the first batch.
According to the data of health ministry, 1.6 million cases of dengue virus were registered in Brazil. The number of deaths caused by this virus in the 2023 grew 5.4% which is 1053.
Therefore, the ministry of health decided to take a serious note on this situation and collaborated with Japanese laboratories.
The vaccination will not be used on mass level. However, the government expects to receive another dose of vaccine between February and November.
