Day and Night for a cure: Pakistan, WHO renew Hepatitis C fight

(Web Desk): Pakistan and the World Health Organization (WHO) have agreed to ramp up efforts to combat hepatitis C, marking a renewed partnership aimed at eradicating the disease from the country.
The understanding was reached during a high-level meeting in Islamabad between Federal Minister for Health, Syed Mustafa Kamal, and WHO Representative in Pakistan, Dr. Dapeng Luo.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment, Minister Kamal emphasized that his ministry would leave no stone unturned in pursuing the elimination of hepatitis C. "Our entire team is ready to work day and night to turn this commitment into a reality," he stated.
Dr. Dapeng Luo expressed WHO’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s ongoing initiatives, including the Prime Minister’s National Programme for the Elimination of Hepatitis C.
He assured that the organization would continue to provide technical guidance and resources to bolster the national campaign against the disease.
This renewed collaboration signals a strategic push to accelerate testing, treatment, and prevention efforts across the country, with the shared goal of eliminating hepatitis C as a public health threat in the coming years.
