Washington DC: The US top court has allowed to review Donald Trump’s appeal against Colorado court to eliminate him from the Republican primary ballot, elevate an uncompromising legal war.
The Court, consisted of a conservative majority which incorporates three justices assigned by Trump, declared that the hearing would be on February 8.
From December 19 the Colorado court’s supremacy banned Trump from the state’s Republican primary ballot, referring to the 14th Amendment of the US law because of his so-called involvement in capital rampage on January 6, 2021.
The government was prompted by challenges from Republican and independent voters in Colorado. Trump’s legal team quickly filed a request endorsing that prohibiting voters from supporting a major party in the next elections was unequalled and spurred the top court to reverse the Colorado court’s decision.
The legal team further said that the eligibility of presidency comes under Congress's jurisdiction but not state courts. Shenna Bellows the Maine’s Secretary of state overruled Trump’s involvement, eliciting his attorneys to criticize her decision as partial and erratic.
On the other hand, Minnesota and Michigan have permitted Trump to stay on their ballots despite the situation. The legal war is on another level now as Colorado and Maine are on different pages. This case drives the Supreme Court to a calumniator situation.
