Sharif trust case: NAB closes investigation against Sharif family
According to the announcement issued by NAB on its website, investigation against Nawaz Sharif and his family members in the Sharif Trust Case has been closed.
Islamabad: An important meeting of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Executive Board was held under the chairmanship of Chairman NAB, in which the board approved the closure of six corruption cases.
According to the details, it was approved in the meeting to close the NAB investigation in the Sharif trust case against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif and his family.
Apart from this, the decision to close the Safe City corruption case inquiry against Inspector General (IG) Islamabad Akbar Nasir Khan has also been taken.
In the board meeting, it has been decided to close the Park Enclave Housing Society inquiry against the CDA officers. The inquiry against the officers of the federal government for recruiting people of their choice and the inquiry against Shahid Malik and Shahbaz Yasin Malik has also been closed.
According to the announcement issued by NAB on its website, after the decision of the Bureau's Executive Board Meeting (EBM) held on January 1, 2024, investigation against Nawaz Sharif and his family members in the Sharif Trust Case has been closed.
An investigation into the Sharif Trust case was approved on March 31, 2000.
The Sharif family was accused of secretly receiving millions of rupees in the Sharif trust, not auditing the accounts of the trust, misappropriating funds and building benami properties in the name of the trust.
