Youth shot dead for resisting mobile phone-snatching bid
Karachi: Two unidentified persons allegedly shot a graphic designer near Landhi area in Karachi on Sunday. The youth was sitting outside his home at the time of incident
The two accused men were allegedly trying to snatch the victim's mobile phone when he was sitting outside his own home amid prolonged power outages in the metropolitan city.
The deceased is identified as Kashan.
Detailing the incident, two armed motorcyclists came and tried to snatch victim’s cellphone and upon resistance, the cell phone snatchers opened fire on Kashan, killing him on the spot. The victim was the only brother of two sisters.
The accused managed to flee the scene.
Police and rescue teams reached the spot after getting information and shifted the deceased to a nearby hospital where he will undergo a postmortem.
In Karachi, these kind of incidents have been occurring frequently during snatching bids, raising questions to police performance in the port city.
