Karachi: Three more cases of Corona variant JN-1 have been reported in Karachi which has increased to five as more passengers coming from abroad were tested at Karachi airport.
According to the details, the positive results of the five cases of this new type of Corona were released by the laboratory of a private hospital in Karachi.
Naseer, 21, a resident of Qamar Shahdad Kot, arrived in Karachi from Jeddah, 22-year-old resident of North Waziristan coming from Abu Dhabi, while 22-year-old resident of Mohmand Agency arrived in Karachi from Jeddah who were tested for the virus and the tests turned out to be positive.
They were tested in the wake of the potential symptoms of Covid-19 among the affected passengers.
So far, five cases of JN-1 have been reported in Sindh.
The Health Department is alerted to JN-1 variant and instructions have been issued to Sindh District Health Officers (DHO) and District Head Quarters (DHQ) Hospitals in this regard.
According to medical experts, Corona's new variants are not as strong as before, appealing the public to take effective measures to prevent possible spread.
