K-Electric extends load shedding to 14 hours in winter
12 to 14 hours load shedding is also being done in Landhi, Korangi, Old City area, Allahwala town and other areas.
Karachi: K-Electric has abnormally increased the load shedding period of electricity in different areas of Karachi.
According to the media reports, load shedding of more than 14 hours is being practiced in Federal Capital area, while complaints of load shedding of more than 16 hours have been received in Liaquatabad C-1 area.
Apart from this, 12 to 14 hours load shedding is also being done in Landhi, Korangi, Old City area, Allahwala town and other areas.
Citizens say that despite less electricity demand in winter, long hours load shedding is beyond understanding. They have demanded that National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) should not renew the license of K-Electric.
On the other hand, the supply of Sui gas has also been suspended in different areas of the city where the residents of Gulistan-e-Johar Block 7 say that the gas supply has been suspended in the area for a month.
While, there are complaints of decrease in gas pressure in Lines area, FB and FC areas.
Apart from this, there is a decrease in gas pressure in PECHS Block-II and VI, Liaquatabad C Area, C-1 Area, while complaints of decreased gas pressure were also received in Gulistan-e-Johar Block 19, Airport, Malir and Shah Faisal Colony.
