Renowned Urdu poet Munawwar Rana passes away at 71
The 71-year-old was fighting with kidney and heart-related disorders.
Lucknow: A renowned poet of the Urdu Literature Munawwar Rana passed away amid to heart attack at the age of 71 in Lucknow, India.
According to the details, he was suffering from several health problems along with throat cancer.
His family stated that he breath his last at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI). Munawwar has four daughters, and a son.
Munawwar's son Tabrez Rana said: “He was treated for 14 to 15 days due to sickness. He was first admitted to Medanta in Lucknow and then to SGPGI where he died”.
The 71-year-old was fighting with kidney and heart-related disorders. His poetry was easily available as he used Hindi and Awadhi words in his sayings.
In his work, the famous writing was the poem 'Maa'. Being a successful poet, he also received numerous titles, including the highly regarded Sahitya Akademi Award in 2014 for his book 'Shahdaba'.
Therefore, the award was giving back because of the increased extremism and pious prejudice in India. His other recollections include the Ameer Khusro Award, Mir Taqi Mir Award, Ghalib Award, Dr. Zakir Hussain Award, and the Saraswati Samaj Award.
