First major update for WhatsApp Channels in 2024
Another new feature is to share channel updates in WhatsApp status which will help channel admins to promote their channel.

California: Meta has rolled out its first major update of 2024 for WhatsApp Channels.
It is important to note that WhatsApp introduced the Channels feature in June 2023, which was initially limited to a few countries, however in September, it was rolled out to users worldwide, including Pakistan.
Users can get updates regarding their favorite personalities, sports and other topics through channels.
In November 2023, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that the number of people using WhatsApp channels has crossed 500 million in just seven weeks.
Considering the popularity of WhatsApp channels, Meta has announced to add more features to it.
A statement issued by Metta said that features like voice notes, polls and additional admins are being added to WhatsApp channels.
According to the statement, now WhatsApp channel operators will be able to share voice updates with their followers, which will increase engagement minutes.
The company claimed that WhatsApp users send seven billion voice messages every day.
Similarly, the option of conducting polls on various topics is also being added to WhatsApp channels. Right now users can only express their reactions through emojis in channels.
Another new feature is to share channel updates in WhatsApp status which will help channel admins to promote their channel.
According to Meta, it will now be possible to add up to 15 admins to run a channel, which will speed up the process of sharing updates with users.
