Intense dry cold, no rain predicted
The Met Office said that the plains of Punjab, Upper Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are under heavy fog and smog.
Lahore: The Meteorological Department has predicted no rains in January while dry cold and fog will continue.
The Department of Meteorology stated that the severity of the dry winter will continue in the country, but there is no chance of rains at the moment. It has been predicted that January will pass without any wet and cold weather in most areas.
According to the Met Office, the lowest temperature was recorded at -12 Degree centigrade in Leh, -7 in Skardu, -6 in Kalam and -5 in Gilgit and Astor.
According to the Meteorological Department, the mercury was -4 degree Centigrade in Rawalkot, -3 in Kalat and Dir, while it dropped to -1 one in Murree, 0 in Quetta, 01 in Islamabad, at least 04 in Peshawar and Lahore and 13 degrees centigrade in Karachi degrees centigrade was recorded.

The severe wave of cold and fog has led to the closed motorway. Motorways-M3 from Faizpur to Rajana and M5 from Sher Shah to Zahir Peer, while Lahore-Sialkot Motorways-M11 gave been closed for traffic due to fog.
The increased fog has led to the reduced visibility in Lahore that has affected the flow of traffic.
On the other hand, traffic on the national highways is suffering from slowed speed due to low visibility in Lodhran.
Apart from this, among the most polluted cities in the world, Karachi stands at second and Lahore at fifth place.
