It is to be noted that the US and Iran have been in conflicts for years, specifically over Tehran's nuclear program, and most recently as stress spike over Gaza.

Washington: The United States (US) forced Pakistan and Iran to avoid heightened tensions after the two countries back- and-forth air strikes as the President Joe Biden said that the conflict showed Iran was not ‘Respected’ in the region.
The strikes have also added to broader turmoil in and around the Middle East.
Biden said that US was now trying to acknowledge how Iran-Pakistan situation would evolve. He further said: “Where that goes we're working on now, I don't know where that goes.”
National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said that US was observing the situation very closely and was in contact with Pakistani officials. Pakistan and Iran are two strong nations.
Iran officials said: “they had targeted an extremist group behind a sequence of attacks in Iranian territory in which two children were killed.”
Pakistan replied with strikes in Iran against what it said were dissident militants backing mutiny in its edgy southwestern province of Baluchistan. Tehran stated that nine people died and declared Pakistan's agents.
It is to be noted that the US and Iran have been in conflicts for years, specifically over Tehran's nuclear program, and most recently as stress spike over Gaza.
