Rs66 billion recovered in crackdown against power theft
According to the data from January 7 to 17, Rs2.061 billion have been collected and 261 people have been arrested from across the country .
Islamabad: The crackdown against smugglers and electricity thieves continues across the country.
According to the details, in view of the government's decision, the results of effective measures taken against electricity theft have started to appear across the country.
According to the data from January 7 to 17, Rs2.061 billion have been collected from across the country and 261 people have been arrested.
The data revelaed that a total of 0.986 billion rupees have been collected from Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad and Multan and 153 people have been arrested, while Rs0.071 billion have been collected from Gujranwala.
The report said that during this period, 0.417 billion rupees were collected from Peshawar and 47 people were arrested. A total of 61 people were arrested from Hyderabad and Sukkur and Rs0.513 billion were collected, while Rs0.071 billion have been recoevred from Quetta.
According to the statistics from September 1, 66.091 billion rupees have been received while many people have been arrested. The relevant government institutions are determined to continue the crackdown against electricity theft.
