Shah Khawar assumes role as acting chairman of PCB
After the resignation of Zaka Ashraf, the caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar initially appointed Mohsin Naqvi as the head of PCB.
Lahore: Shah Khawar, serving as the election commissioner of the Cricket Board, has taken charge as the acting chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after Zaka Ashraf's resignation.
After the resignation of Zaka Ashraf, the caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar initially appointed Mohsin Naqvi as the head of PCB.
However, senior lawyer Shah Khawar is set to officially assume charge from tomorrow (Wednesday) until the Board elections take place.
Meanwhile, Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab Mohsin Naqvi will fulfill his duties as a governing body member of PCB.
Shah Khawar, the Election Commissioner of PCB, would oversee the upcoming Cricket Board elections, with Mohsin Naqvi contesting for the position of Chairman PCB.
Earlier this week, the interim Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar approved the resignation of Zaka Ashraf as PCB Chairman and appointed Mohsin Naqvi as the new head of PCB.
It's important to mention that Mohsin Naqvi is currently serving as the caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab.
