PTI announces live meeting on TikTok

Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) is running its election campaign through social media for the upcoming general elections. Now it is going to hold its first live online meeting today i.e. January 24 on the social media video sharing app TikTok.

In this regard, PTI's official X-handle shared the details of the rally in shared message and said, ‘Let's make history once again’!

So far, PTI has organized two online meetings and an international online convention in which the speech of PTI founder Imran Khan, created by artificial intelligence (AI), was also broadcast.

This speech later sparked a new debate.

Holding an online rally on TikTok can be very challenging for PTI as compared to other social media platforms as it is only possible to show live videos on TikTok in Pakistan with few conditions.

Earlier, PTI social media operator Jibran Ilyas turned to X and wrote about the TikTok rally that it is necessary to have 1000 followers to participate in the LIVE Jalsa.

Jibran Ilyas had issued instructions to all PTI workers to follow each other by creating TikTok accounts as live videos cannot be watched on TikTok in Pakistan.

However, the users in these comments made it clear to the head of PTI social media team that the live meeting can be watched even without 1000 followers.

A user said that, '1000 followers are not necessary to watch live jalsa, anyone can watch and participate in the guest call, but to watch live video on TikTok in Pakistan, it is necessary that your account is created using a foreign number or using VPN’.
