The police said that the officer identified as Humayun was on the way to duty in the car along with his driver.


Peshawar: In a tragic incident, a government officer was killed as unidentified people opened fire at his vehicle in Peshawar.
According to the police, unknown assailants fired at the vehicle of an officer of Social Welfare Department at Ishrat Cinema Chowk in Peshawar.
The police said that the officer identified as Humayun was on the way to duty in the car along with his driver when the vehicle was fired upon and he got injured.
Later, the government official succumbed to his injuries. Police has started the investigation to arrest the accused.
Notably, two days earlier, an education officer's car was also fired upon in Dera Ismail Khan, but he remained safe.
