Naqvi issued directives to reinstate the cost-free travel provision on major public transportation projects.


Lahore: The government of Punjab has inaugurated a program created to provide discount cards for travel to disable persons. These cards entitled individuals to a substantial 50 percent reduction in fares for travels via public transportation.
According to the details, this program introduced in alignment with the Punjab Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Act, is designed for increasing the accessibility of public transit for individuals facing disabilities.

The travel card initiative extends its eligibility to all persons with disabilities who possess an officially sanctioned disability certificate from the government. Disables can make an application for the credential at the offices of the Deputy Director of Social Welfare in their respective districts.
Recently, the caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi issued directives to reinstate the cost-free travel provision on major public transportation projects.
Therefore, students up to 12 grade can enjoy in complimentary travel across all Metro Buses and the Orange Line Train until the arrival of the summer break.
It is to be noted that interim provincial administration announced complimentary travel privileges for elderly citizens and students utilizing the Orange Line Metro Train, Metro Bus Service and Speedo Bus Service.
